Posting is really quite easy but I’m going to try to answer some questions before they come up to make it easier. If you have other questions, please ask!
In order to post you must REGISTER.
We encourage people to post video messages which we’d really love or just messages to Maura and include pictures if you want. Be creative and tell her how much her work has meant to you and how much you look forward to her next endeavor. Have you met her? Share what that mean to you. Try to keep it short and to the point but feel free to come back and post again later.
1. Posting a message is really quite easy. Once you are logged in you should see a toolbar across the top of the page and if you click on new it will give you the option of a new post or comment and start writing. If you think of it, please select a category which for most will be thank you. We want to try to get as many posts as possible featured on the main page and I know many of us have a lot to say. So there is a way to get just the beginning of your post featured on the main page and then the whole thing on it’s own page. I’m going to post some pictures to try to make it easier to figure out. Also please keep in mind while posts can be longer, Maura is a busy lady and if it’s short and to the point, there is a far greater chance she will read it. You can always come back and post again and we encourage you to do that.

1. Look for the “More” button 2. Put yur cursor where you want to split the page and then click on more . It will insert the text there where you need it. 3. Pick the category the post goes in. Then publish the post and the work is done for you!
This is a sample of what the post will look like on the main page. When you click on Continue Reading, it will take you to the post page where you will see your entire post, just as you wanted it. If you don’t split a post, please don’t be surprised if we do it for you just so more people can get their posts showing on the main page. Thanks in advance.
2.. Posting Images. If it is just a single image, it is really quite simple. If the image is hosted on the internet, just click on the image tag and insert the url and the work is done for you. If you want to upload from your computer, click on the icon above the posting box to insert media and select the one for pictures. You are able to upload a picture from your computer. You have several options. If it is large, consider creating a thumbnail. It gives you choices on what to connect the thumbnail to and select connect to image. It also gives you the option to wrap text around the picture and you can position it left, right or center. Then just select insert in post and it is done for you.
Some people may have multiple pictures they want to upload and for that I recommend using the gallery option. First upload your pictures to the gallery and you can select several at once to upload. To the left is an example of what the gallery selection looks like. Make sure to select link thumbnails to image files. Then just insert into the post.
This is an example of how the editor will look for your post. One important thing is to make sure you select the gallery option under format. The rest of the time you don’t really need to worry about that. (2) just tells you where to look for the upload media option. (3) shows what it will look like after you select insert in post. It’s that simple and then you can publish the post.

3. Posting a video is really very easy. We would love to see video thank yous to Maura so please create a short video and post it here. You will notice an option to directly upload a video to the site but for now unfortunately it will only link it and not embed it. So your best bet is to host it on another site and embed it here. It’s very simple. All you have to do is post the video url and it will automatically take care of the rest for you. Do not try to align it by centering it or anything. It does that for you and doesn’t work properly if yu change it. Just post the link. No need to worry about any code or anything. If it doesn’t convert it for you, chances are it is not a supported site. Sites that will work are:
- YouTube (only public videos – “unlisted” and “private” videos will not embed)
- Flickr (both videos and images)
- Qik
- Photobucket
- SmugMug
